    excessive grieving?

    Post by chrebet1024 on 11/11/2012, 12:59

Colts are up 48 to 17 with 3 minutes left in the game, "My peer has been kicked off due to excessive greiving" (whatever the hell that means, although I've heard people get it when hitting R1, cadence button too much)

.....now do I really have to play this game again? you kidding me?

there's gotta be a disconnect rule in a blowout where that team then plays the CPU right?

Idk where those disconnect rules are to check them out.

Below is EA's definition of Excessive Grieving: Not sure if this provides much insight, but its better than nothing..

    Excessive GrievingL
In order to maintain a fun, competitive environment, we must monitor users for behavior that alters an opponent’s ability to play Madden NFL. As such we have a number of metrics that are monitored in-game which we consider potentially “grievous”. Thresholds for these metrics are maintained on our servers, and when players repeatedly perform actions enough times to break that set threshold, they are kicked for “Excessive grieving”. Some of these are obvious. Example: such as the user drawing too many offsides, encroachments, and false starts penalties. NOTE: These are USER behaviors. You are not at risk if the CPU happens to draw these penalties without user input.

freakin EA sports. Solman wouldn't do anything like that in the case where it would be harmful to a game. so my thing is its wayyyyyy to strict.

    Thanks tho.

"Excessive grieving" .I've had it pop up when it was just a random "lost connection" situation...I don't really think it's accurate (going by the description EA puts out)....pretty sure I lost connection once and my opponent said he got message I was ""Excessive grieving"".....I was just playing normally ...EA sucks ...lol

You know what...I got booted for excessive grieving once when I was playing somebody in preseason (forget who it was)...and I was playing normally as well. After researching it I found that if u hit the r1 button too much u can get booted. And maybe that is why it happened to me...so I stopped doing it every play and never had it happen again. It is way too strict however...however those brilliant people at EA define it.
....hey at least EAs NHL game is always flawless.....

yeah...like I said don't think it's accurate....If you are having trouble, say some game your connection is weak (for whatever reason, who knows with internet?) then I thinks it might sense your, "excessive grieving"

I will say it hasn't happened to me too much this year (maybe twice)

    To All,

Please check your system updates.....I was not current and it seemed to fix my connection problems (excessive grieving) last night. I promise that you guys are NOT up to date.

AGREE, people should check their system updates. However that lastest update was available LAST WEEK ....another reason Sony pisses me off. The fact that in order to get "automatic updates" you have to PAY to be a "Playstation Plus" member..only reason I found it last week was a fluke, I was having a hard time "signing in" so I checked system update...screw you, Sony
